Hi guys,
So I have been on this game for a while now and I wanted to do some statistical analysis to which my knowledge hasn't been done before (but probably has).

After churning the results of a wide range of divisions (listed at the bottom),
I have found:

---------Average points per position (to 1 decimal place).---------

1st: 66.9
2nd: 60
3rd: 55.9
4th: 52.4
5th: 50.3
6th: 47.6
7th: 45.7
8th: 43.7
9th: 41.7
10th: 39.5
11th: 37.5
12th: 35.1
13th: 31.2
14th: 26.6
15th: 19.8
16th: 10.1

---------How many points all but guarantees you safety from the division.---------

No one had ever got relegated with 39 POINTS and above

---------The lowest amount of points someone has avoided relegation with.---------

Someone has avoided relegation with just 25 POINTS:

---------How many points guarantees you promotion.---------

Anything above 65 POINTS gained you promotion.

---------The lowest amount of points someone has got promoted with.---------

Someone got promoted with just 48 POINTS

https://www.virtualmanager.com/leagues/1/2/1/archived_table?season=2312

---------How many points guarantees you the league.---------

With this sample size it showed 72 points typically guaranteed you the league (higher could be possible)

---------The lowest amount of points someone has won the league with.---------

Someone won the league with just 49 POINTS

*Data taken from 8 leagues (DMRK,ITLY,SPN,US,NETHLND,BRZL,SWDN,GRMNY)
Division 2 Group 1's from (2023-06 to 2023-15) -
80 seasons in total* (small sample size because of effort required)

This took me a fair amount of time, hope you appreciate - I can also keep building my sample size and may do so in the future smiley

If anyone has freak seasons which beat the records - Link below please smiley

Great job

I Love these sorts of stats.

Very interesting.

Super post fella , very much enjoyed your analysis saying Football is now a stat driven game should a new position be created for a " stat man" in the staff roles ...

Thanks Mate, good point also - I'm sure the stats that the developers have access to are certainly mouthwatering , if more insight was given I think it would only benefit the game smiley

I keep coming back to thus thread to judge the current season as it plays out ...

Quite surprised there's not a lot more interest here.

Same, I always find myself checking back in, seeing if I'm guaranteed safety etc etc

Did you ever expand your research database?

Didn't get round to it, but its all on an excel sheet, so might spend a few hours and collate some more data

Just seen this, excellent work

On the statistical analysis topic, I’m doing a degree in a related field and would love any data to practice visualising using programming. If anyone has any data related to this game in an excel/ csv format, I’d love to play around and visualise it.
