Ratings/skills and weird transfermarket

Why does some players have more skills than other players but with lower rating?

48 - 385
46 - 423

2. The prices on transfermarket are too high
-there are mostly GK and Forwards on transfer. It's also impossible to get cheap defenders.. hmm...

1. The higher rated player has been trained in his key stats more.

2. Supply and demand, DC and MC positions have for aslong as I remember been more expensive, theres less of them, so they are going to cost more.
