Sildegapet given tough time in ONC

Written 1 March 2013, 18:02

Sildegapet have been given a tough time in the group of death in the ONC. After a really positive start where they managed to draw 0-0 with Cassius Club and hopes that they may even be able to register a first win, Sildegapet have started to fall away.

Their second match was against Dynamo Groby, probably the hardest away trip in the whole tournament. Chowdhury was full of praise for he firm favourites but he was still confident that he had created a team worthy of coming to Vale Park. This was in no way the case. After the hour and a half was up, the only thing Chowdhury could say was that they had been outplayed by a far superior side. A 6-0 thrashing did not give any credit to the effort that the very young side put in.

Sildegapet then had two home games that followed, and hopes were once more raised that Sildegapet could get a first win in the competition. However, hopes were soon dashed and the whites were beaten twice 2-0 to all but end any qualification hopes. However, Chowdhuy hopes that he will have strengthened the squad before the wooden spoon finals and they can have a shot at winning something.

Meanwhile, Chowdhury also announced that they would be restarting the Bernese Oberland Cup, which will be the fourth edition of the cup. More information will follow.
