Red Bull have purchased the fallen club Spion Kop FC. Spion Kop FC had been disbanded for many years however the clubs name rights, stadium and trophies remained with previous owners Gameloft.

The price of the deal is said to be around 30 Million. With Red Bull purchasing the club, many see it as just another ploy to build the brand up rather than caring about actual football. Red Bull have published a statement on their website, an extract from the statement shows what many people believe to be their intentions.

"We are pleased to buy this club, this is a club with history and is well known around the Virtual Manager universe. We would not have invested in this club if we did not believe we could reach the top with this club, the manager will have full support of us, as shown with the new training ground."
