Streymoy transfer final straw for Aster

Written 28 November 2014, 08:29

The directors of AFC Up the Hill moved quickly to terminate the contract of manager Tony Aster this morning.

The decision follows the purchase and immediate sale of Amariel Streymoy with the club making an estimated 300,000c loss on the deal.

A spokesman for the club said "Tony has been a great manager at this club but we, as a board, are of the belief he has taken us as far as he can. The Streymoy issue merely brought the decision forward a bit as his contract was due to end at the end of this season anyway. We wish him well on his next appointment."

The search for his replacement is underway but the club are keen to make the right appointment rather than a quick one. With the club in the highest division in their history the applicants are expected to be of a very high standard.
