Delight at Phillip Kruth Signing

AFC Up the Hill have opened the cheque book to capture a 22 year old midfielder from BĂ„rdur FC. At 3,700,003c Kruth is the clubs record signing but manager Tony Aster believes the youngster will cope with the pressure well.

"People need to remember this is a player who has transferred for somewhere in the region of 20,000,000 in his career so far, so it's not just us who thinks he has that special something." beamed Aster "We just hope he can settle in here and begin to get regular football under his belt"

Questions have been raised about the health of the clubs transfer budget after such a large outlay but Aster dismissed these concerns. "We have had our eye on him for some time now and, to be honest, the transfer came about a little earlier than we had anticipated. When we realised a move for him had been made we had to just go for it. The Chairman has a few more grey hairs but he trusts in what we are building here."

The manager also hinted that some players may have to move on before new signings are made "they are a good bunch of lads but football is football and these things happen"

Kruth is expected to go straight into the final game of the season today.
