Razey Rovers

1 Year Celebration (a bit late)

Written 4 March 2010, 00:00

Today on the 20th of December 2009, Razey Rovers celebrated their 1 year anniversary since they formed. They started in Division 9, Group 207 and in the year they have had a total of 8 promotions and 6 relegations and also a time where they lost all out players as contract run out and had to restart from scratch. But now they are in Divisison 7, Group 27 looking to go up.
The manager and chairman Joe King said this during his speech \"I can\'t believe a year has past already. Just shows how fast time goes. I am surprised how well we have done to go up a total of two leagues in one year and if we keep up this way we will surely be in the premiership in no time.. We have had many of great players and some will never be forgotten for the job they have done for us but we also have a great bunch of players with us now who get along with everyone, but more importantly love to play football...\" He then added at the end \"...A toast to Razey Rovers and hope for many more successful years to come.\"
Some of the players who have been here the longest to experience moving between the leagues are, Hand Remond Horsfield (Defender Left, 24), Carl Randell (Defender Central, 25), Christopher Fox (Defender Central, 24), Jeffery Vincent (Forward Left, 26) and club captain Kenley Paul Kendall (Midfield Centre, 23). KPK spoke to us about the celebrations and had this to say \"It\'s a great achievement for the club one year since originally founded, I am glad to be part of the club. It feels like home to me this club. I just hope I can stay here for many more years to come as a player or part of the staff. I would love to be here forever, seeing all the players coming in and seeing those going out and also see how the youngsters do. We have two great midfield centrals who are both belowthe age of 20, as im older and more experienced I always train with them to help develop their skills and then hopefully one day they could help us go up a few more leagues.\"
Jeffery Vincent has the clubs highest number of appearnces, with just over 1000 now and also highest goal scorer, with 659 goals. He had this to say \"Well I\'ve been here for a long time, but I cant think now of being at any other club now. The manager is great, all the players are amazing and we all get along.\" He then goes on to add \"I have had many of strike partners at my time at Razey Rovers. But the one I remember most was with Pearse Mann. He is an outstanding striker and had an unbeliveable record here. He helped us with many of promotions and to help us stay up. I just couldnt believe it when he left the club as they couldn\'t agree with a new contract. I would love him to come back to the club and I heard we have tried but his current club \'mehmet G\' just turns down our offer. But we have some great new strikers here, we have a young Welsh striker in his teens and hes a great talent. But also our most expensive buy so far costing us 300,000C, Farnon. He took time to find his feet but now hes are top goal scorer this season and maybe he might beat my record of most goals for Razey Rovers one day.\"
So as other clubs fold and others join. This one club celebrates a year of playing and at thier success to move up and forward in hope that one day their dream will come true of lifting the premier league trophy above thier heads.
