CAS coach Christopher van de Leuk has been managing the club for about 8 seasons, some fans notice the lack of young talent that was seen before. When calculating the 19-man squad one can see that the average age of the squad is 29.4 years old, but when excluding the youth contingent of Tshabalala, Vanancio and Becker one sees that the average age rises to 31.9 years old. Van de Leuk states that the reason of this is of a financial perspective, stating that getting young players of the same quality would be financially unattainable for CAS, as they had tried this in the 2022-43 season. He states "We must reach financial stability and complete the objectives the board has set for us before we decrease our median age.
