The Rooks Return to VM!

VM News can confirm Rookery Park have officially announced their return to the Virtual Manager world. The 2020-51 VM World Cup winners shocked VM fans when they took a hiatus from the game in early 2023 selling all of the playing squad and running down the contracts of the backroom staff. This hiatus however was to only last just over a year as manager/owner Matt Colley released a shock announcement this week via the club's previously inactive X account simply posting:

"Unfinished business...

Following Colley's social media post, VM News were quick to speak to The Rooks' boss to confirm if Rookery Park were indeed back.

MC: "Yes, I can confirm Rookery Park are to return to competing in VM. I felt as if we had unfinished business and the hunger has returned to fight to climb back up the leagues and eventually try and get back to winning trophies."

Colley was further questioned about the club's swift return to league football, the new playing squad and backroom staff and the club's vision for the future.

MC: "We've built a tidy little squad both at senior and youth level, I'm pleased with the players we've managed to bring in, especially considering the short time frame to sign everyone up, I hope they can guide us in the right direction back up the leagues. The backroom staff is still a work in progress, we've brought in some guys that we're pleased with, however we're looking to add some more faces in the coming days/weeks to further bolster the infrastructure of the club. The long term goal remains the same, we intend to push for major trophies, there's 30 to be won in total, 14 of which we've already done so nothing has changed in that regard. I'm a realist though, I understand we're not in a position as a club right now to attack the top divisions, that as I say is more long term, right now we're focusing on progressing the current group as high as we can and we'll improve the playing squad going forward as necessary."

Rookery Park have been placed in Division 5, Group 8 of Scotland where they've so far won every game since their return.

MC: "Scotland made sense as its one of the 4 countries left we've yet to win a trophy in, we can lay our foundations here and once the time is right, hopefully make a real go at trying to win major trophies again."

Time will only tell if Rookery Park's return will be a success.
