Written 2 August 2016, 18:41

The Reds ended The Warriors winning streak with a comfortable win on their first ever visit to Rodney Parade.
Briers lit up the first half with a spectacular strike which opened the scoring on 16 minutes. At times the play was scrappy and error-strewn but when they stitched together decent moves Reds looked a real threat. A powerful 30-yard drive by Custudio Baia tested Warsaw keeper Izak Pashinski in the early stages while Calder Mark Kirk’s only save of the entire game was a comfortable claim after a header from Nathaniel Wieruszowski.

Captain Hringhere Briers won a corner within 7 minutes but the game desperately needed a moment of quality and it came minutes after when Briers hit home the first of the 3 goals.
Right-Back Radman Borowska cheaply gave the ball away to Nijs Sniejder, who passed it to the captain as he slotted it home.
Spells of possesion in the first half saw few chances come to either of the sides as the half time whistle blew.

2 goals later came from Nijs Sniejder after superb bulid up play from wingers Baia and Briers. It saw The Reds captain Briers get man of the match against the fully Polish side. The game was wrapped up and it left Dermot Drummy to comment, "It wasn't a great performance, but it was good enough to get 3 points. If we can stay in this form I strongly believe we can go the season unbeaten."
