Crawley Town FC 3-2 Husum United

Written 3 July 2016, 15:35

Some VERY scrappy goals saw the relegated reds beat title contenders Husum United in what was Crawley's last game of the season.

Bernardo Parpinelli put the reds ahead when he drove a low strike past debutant Husum keeper Custenhin Smith. Davino Oyen shot in off an excellent move to make it 1-1.
Just 10 minutes later, a tap-in from retiring Ambroise Bruneau put Crawley back in-front.
Just before half-time another tap in (this time from Nijs Sneijder) was converted and made it 3-1 to the red devils.
Despite hard work United couldn't claw it back despite a late consolation from Beorhtel Newsome.

Dermot Drummy commented, "We dug deep as a team. We defended well as a team for the whole game, so in the first half we had a spell when we battered them. As a team performance we did really well. The first half performance was excellent and second half performance was not excellent.
It's a little bit of a Jekyll & Hyde performance because we came in 3-1 at half-time and that's when we've got to enjoy it a bit more.
"You've got to take your hat off to Husum in the second-half because they threw caution to the wind and ended up playing with four up front."

This game ended a dissapointing season for the reds who will do well next season, hoever, some players may leave which could cost us. Thank you to the fans for getting behind us all season and hopefully, we can get promoted again next season. smiley
