Written 11 December 2018, 17:45

The last player (possibly ever) in the main roster of Tapponautit has now retired. The Argentinan 39 years old, #18, Jose Miguel De La Cruz has hanged his jersey for the last time. La Cruz was acquired into the team on 24.5.2017 and went on to play a record setting 2098 matches over unbelievable 82 seasons. During this time, he scored 400 goals (3rd most in the clubs history, only 1 behind Atdhe Dallku) and gave a record amount, 948 assists. He was chosen as Man of the Match 199 times. He also wore the captains C for the last 2 seasons, Other than Tapponautit, La Cruz has only played for 2 other clubs during his carrer, Benløse Forever. (191 matches) and one match in FC Rødme. Overall in his carrer, he has scored 410 goals, given 978 assists and been named MotM 202 times. At his retirment party, he gave his last speech:

"2098 matches... thats a hell of a lot of football. And the whole time's been like a dream. Sure there's been rough periods, but I cant believe i've get to spend this much time doing what I love. This wouldn't have been possible without all the people here. Our GM, thanks for buying me (a bit of a laugh). My teammates, who I have had a lot of, thank you so much for making up for my mistakes and given me motivation to stay on the field (again with a laugh). And the fans. You've endured me for over 2000 matches. How? I dont know. But on every single game, home or away, you've been out of this world. Thank you."

The GM Tappajanautti also had a bit of a speech:

"Josz (his nickname). Like you said, that IS a hell of a lof of football. And our club was so very lucky to have you play for that amount for us. I remember when I saw you out on the market, I knew instantly that you'd be a perfect fit for the team. Never I would have guessed this perfect though. Thank you so so much, you've shown unbelievable dedication and I think it's only fitting to have the team go inactive after a player like you retire. Thank you."

We also like to thank and congratulate La Cruz for his amazing carrer. The club will have one last ceremony to mark the start on unactivity on 13.11.
