The Armageddon has settled

Written 12 March 2018, 13:36

12.3.2018, at the age of 32, the player Atdhe Dallku retired today. Dallku, who doesnt really need any introduction, became a big name within the club already on his first season. The Albanina #9 left winger was aquired to the club 13.5.2018 for the sum of 166,666 Credits. On his first season, in 29 matches, he scored 36 goals and gave 15 assists. Thats the most goals any player has scored in 1 season in the club. Dallku went on to play 981 matches, scoring unbelievable 401 goals, which is the current record for goals scored in the clubs history. He also gave 143 assists and was chosen as Man of the Match 76 times. He was a long time alternate captain of the team too. In total during his stunning carrer, over 14 clubs, Dallku played 1391 matches, scoring 564 goals, giving 241 assists, and being honored as MotM 97 times. Dallku was in the teams starting lineup for his whole carrer, and he always came through for the team in important matches. Dallku also went out with a bang. He played his last match against Teufel hunden, where he helped the team to 2-1 home victory by scoring the first goal, and passing the ball to Benjamin Parsa, who scored the go ahead goal in the 90th minute. The crowd exploded at that moment, and the whole team gathered around Dallku and Parsa to celebrate for 5 minutes. We werent able to catch any player to an interview after the match, but we heard a lot of speeches at Dallkus retirement ceremony. Starting off with the legend himself.

"This is gonna sound cliche, but i really really do want to say thank you, from the very bottom of my heart. I dont have the words to express my gratitude. All the support and love ive gotten here has, has meant the world to me. I will cherish all these memories for the rest of my life. More precisely id like to thank our GM. Mr. Tappajanautti, you always had complete trust in me. It was always easy to prepare for the match, knowing that i have full support behind me. I hope i lived up to the expectations. Next, my teammates. All of you (all the already retired players were also in the ceremony). Its been an honor beyond words to play with you. I wouldnt have done even half as much during my time here if it wasnt for you. And especially you, Ben (Parsa). I couldnt have wished for a better person to play along my side on the frontline. Of course you were great too Niki (Knude), but i just had special chemistry with Ben. Your passing was fantastic, and it was easy to put the ball into. Keep at those passes and cut down on the goals, youre getting too cloes to me (he says jokingly, refering to his total goals scored, from which Parsa is 50 goals away). So thank you. And, of course our fantastic fans. It gave me so much confident to hear you cheer so loudly each time i even touched the ball. Even in away matches. So thank you. Also a huge thank to all our trainers, equipment staff, and just to everyone (he says very emotionally). I feel like theres a thousand more things to say, but i just dont have the words. Its been a pleasure to be here, and im excited to test my skills as a trainer. Thank you."

After a long lasting applause, the teams capatain, Bryan Teetaert stepped on the platform to give his speech to the legend.

"Dallku, we've always been able to rely on you, espeically on tough matches. We've known that if we're able to keep the ball out of the net, youll score at least 1 for us. It was always so exciting to watch you go, and seeing your shot always blew me away. I wish you all the best on your retriement days, and cant wait to train under your help."

Next up was Dallkus best friend and striker pair, Benjamin Parsa:

"Dall, im really gonna miss you. You were the best player ive ever seen, and i cant believe i got to play along with you. Every second on that field with you felt like a dream come true. Even in the locker room, and outside the stadium, you are a absolute joy to be with. Theres not enough words to tell how thankful i am for getting to play with you, and how great it is that you wont completely leave us. So thank you for everything, its been an honor. Ill also concider letting you keep your goal record (he says jokingly with a wink).

Lastly, the GM had his speech:

"Dallku, i dont think there ever will be a player like you. Your ability to come through in tough matches was something very extraordinary. I many times thought, that if i hadnt seen the match, but afterwards seen that we won 1-0, i would have been sure it was you who scored. Your achievement of 401 goals is mindblowing, and such a big portion of those goals were very important ones. You also showed excelent leadership, never giving up and always trying your best. This club, or maybe the whole game, wont probably ever again have a player like you again. To honor your unmatchable carrer, we've decided to retire your number, 9. A banner with your name and number will be risen to the brackets, and no player in this club will wear the number ever again. (huge applauses). We also cant wait to get you started on your trainer contract. So thank you Dallku, this club will forever be thankful for everything youve done, and will miss you on the field. Thank you."

Dallku becomes the second player in the clubs history to have his number retired. He joins the former club legend Alfred Agger, whos number 11 was retired at the end of the teams last run.

As for replacement, the 32 years old Peter Ferris will replace Dallku in the lineup.

We here at the press want to say our biggest thanks to Dallku for all this time, for every great moment, and congratulate him on his carrer, and this honor. We also wish him the very best on his retriement.
