I have looked at the code one more time.

After all, we have the effect that if a player trains stats that are already well above the average of all his other stats, then the training is reduced. It dampens training if a player becomes too specialized. It has always been like that.

However, after we removed Courage, Off the Ball, Balance, Jump and Strength from the training programs, those stats will never increase, and so it is conceivable that they will now start to drag the average down a bit. This then means that some individual players may start to run into the anti-specialization effect, depending on how they have been trained.

However, the effect is not particularly large, and only comes into play if the trained stats are more than 15% above the average.

A third of a percent is deducted from the training for every 1% of the trained state is higher than the average, after the first 15%.

That is that if the trained stats are 45% higher than the average, then the training is reduced by 10%. = (45-15)/3

I have adjusted the code so that the 5 removed states no longer count in the average.

For those of who haven't kept up with my blog posts, here's an overview of some of the new stuff:

Only a couple of minutes

It'll only take a couple of minutes to finish a report - before, it took at least 3 days! :O

Pick a focus

You need to choose what your scout should focus on: either Potential or Abilities.
Pick Potential, if you're looking for a player to develop and train, and Abilities, if you're looking for a player to fill a position in your lineup right here and now.

Wildcards

If you set Focus to Potential, there's a chance that your scout will find a completely untrained player - a wildcard. These players you'll need to hire and train, in order to find out for yourself whether they're worth the effort.

A max of 5 scouts

You can only have 5 scouts maximum. If you currently have more, you'll need to fire the excess.

The scout needs rest

The scout needs to rest for a few hours after finishing a report, but you can get him ready straight away by spending VM Tickets.

Do you only want to see players for sale?

If you tick the box "Only for sale?", then the scout will only look at players who are either on auction, transfer listed, or on free transfer - players that you'll be able to purchase right away, without first having to contact the owner or wait for him to accept a bid.

Players' current residence

To avoid you having to pick from a list of over a hundred countries when you send out your scout, you can only send him to countries with leagues in them.

That means that all players now have an additional piece of information on their profile: Current residence. So if a player is originally from Ukraine, but his current residence is USA, then a scout will be able to find in the USA.

The important scout abilities

On Dec. 6th 13:20, the player's contract expired and he left the club.

On Dec. 6th 15:45 the automatic "2nd attempt" auction started, where the original owner is no longer listed as the seller. That's the auction that ended in a 400k sale.

It's only the first auction ending after the player leaves the club, that you receive credits for. Usually, that auction will be an automatic 24-hour auction without a minimum bid, but if you've put the player up for auction yourself, that's the one that counts as the first attempt to sell.

So that's a risk you run if you put a player up for auction with an unrealistic minimum bid and allow their contract to expire before that auction ends.

I believe that clubs over 60 days old can still extend contracts, until reaching a balance deficit of -1mC.
- Clubs under 60 days old do not have that facility and cannot do so once in debt.

Originally, it was 85% / 70% / 55%, but I adjusted down after a few days, because people began to grumble.
